Forgotten Worlds How to Play as a Wolf
Instincts, packs, and dens — the main Forgotten Worlds role.
Most of Forgotten Worlds is wolf roleplay. You are not grinding stats. You are a body in a forest with emotes, a chat box, and 27 other people who may already be in a scene. This guide is the social walkthrough. Pair it with getting started for rooms and controls for binds.
Core loop
- Pick a morph that matches the tone you want (see the wolf tier list).
- Leave spawn so you are not blocking the mall.
- Travel, rest, drink, eat, and greet.
- Join a pack only after you read the room.
- If hunters appear, decide whether this is a consented hunt or a random spawn-kill.
That is the game. Players who treat it like a simulator last ten minutes. Players who treat it like a stage stay for the 17-minute average session and then some.
Emotes as language
The model refresh added readable animations: sit, sit-to-the-side, paws posed, drink, eat, sleep, growl. Use them as sentences.
- Sit / loaf — you are staying. Good for dens.
- Sleep — do not start a fight on this wolf without OOC warning.
- Drink / eat — travel beat. Makes screenshots look alive.
- Growl — boundary. A stranger walking into a nursery scene should see this before you open chat.
Spam-growling at everyone is the wolf equivalent of a foghorn. Save it.
Pack etiquette
Ask “mind if I join?” in chat if a group is clearly mid-scene. If they are running in formation, match pace; do not cut in with a faster morph and scatter the screenshot. If they are all Fire Wolves, maybe do not show up in a rainbow pelt unless they are joking.
Leadership is informal. Some packs have an alpha story. Some are just friends. Do not declare yourself alpha in a server you just joined. Earn a howl.
Pups (when available) are not punchlines. If someone is playing a cub, the pack usually wants protection RP, not a hunter joke from a random. The trapper guide tells hunters the same rule from the other side.
Hunts and food
There is no hunger bar that kills you. “Hunting” is theater: chase, tag, collapse, emote eat. Some servers use the carcass props (the “?” body in the official thumbnail is a whole mood). Agree whether the prey is an NPC prop or a player. Player-prey RP needs consent. If you do not get it, find a prop.
Hunters in camo will shoot. Sometimes it is a scene. Sometimes it is grief. If you did not opt into PvP RP, say so once, then hop. Servers are public; you are not owed a private forest.
Where to go
Walk ridges for screenshots, water for drink emotes, cabins for Halloween digits, and dens for sleep scenes. The crypt helper is only for October. The rest of the year the map is a park.
If you want exclusive pelts for pack nights, join the group and follow Fire Wolf. If you want jewelry and cloaks, wait until you know you like the game, then open gamepasses.
Common mistakes
Buying four passes before emotes, camping spawn, fly scripts (scripts), crashing medic scenes, treating trappers as NPCs. Play the wolf like an animal that knows other animals have keyboards. That skill ceiling is why this archive still has a million favorites.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for wolves, trappers, and crypt hunters.
How do I hunt as a wolf?
There is no hunger stat. Hunting is roleplay: chase, emote, eat. Ask if a player is prey before you pounce.
How do I join a pack?
Walk up, sit, ask in chat. Do not declare rank. Match their morph tone if they have one.
What emotes should I learn first?
Sit, sleep, drink, growl. Those four cover rest, travel, and boundaries.
Can wolves fight trappers for real?
Combat is theatrical. If a hunter is griefing, hop servers rather than chasing a win condition that does not exist.
